Professional Development Awards



Fund Overview

In the 2003-2007 Collective Bargaining Agreement between CWA Local 1104/GSEU and
the State of New York, funds were established to support professional development
activities for CWA Local 1104/GSEU members. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
has negotiated $600,000 in funds for 2003-2007.

In this round of 2007-2011 negotiations (click for updates), we are looking to increase State
contributionsto the fund. While our expired contract remains in full force and
effect, we will need a new Collective Bargaining Agreement to bring fresh contributions
to each campus so that awards can be made by the joint labor management conference.
This has been a tremendously popular fund.

The Union recommends that members save all receipts, from books to conferences,
in anticipation of a new Agreement.
